Welcome to the June 2011 Falun Dafa India Newsletter.
In this issue, we have a compilation of experience-sharing Articles gleaned from Clearwisdom that always shine through because of their insights and fine quality of sharing. It is important to read the Clearwisdom, Pureinsight and other Dafa sites.
We make an effort to select Articles from the Archives which people don’t go back to and are relevant even today. Contributions are welcome from practitioners.

- 2. What’s Happening?
Practitioners from Delhi visited Jaipur and introduced Falun Dafa exercises to the cadets and staff at the Police Academy.
There will be more follow up visits and many schools and colleges are interested in learning the practice.
In Bangalore, practitioners have been introducing Dafa to new schools and revisiting some of the schools where the Teachers now want a refresher course.
A practitioner from Bangalore was selected to present and talk in an international conference on ‘Peace within and Peace outside’ organized by IIM, Bangalore.
A lot of participants showed keen interest in learning the exercises.

- 3. An Understanding of “Obtaining the Fa”
A Dafa Disciple

"Obtaining the Fa” has been one of the most frequently used phrases in discussions among Dafa disciples. However, on being asked what the exact meaning of “obtaining the Fa” is, practitioners are usually only able to give a general description of it. "When you obtain the Fa, Master will then take care of you; Master provides you with many Ji [mechanisms or machines] and you will increase your Gong by practicing ..."
However, I felt this explanation was still very vague. It was just like the junior monk’s explanation of consecration, "The Buddha statue will work after consecration." (From "Consecration" in Lecture 5 of Zhuan Falun) But it was not clear why the Buddha statue would work. The explanation is only superficial. I often thought about some questions that I was unable to answer. For example, for some phrases containing “Fa,” such as obtaining the Fa, studying the Fa, rectifying the Fa, assimilating into the Fa and Fa particles, how do they relate to each other?
Of course, I could come up with many superficial relations among them. But I always thought there should be a simple, essential relation. “A great way is extremely simple and easy.” (from Chapter One, "5. Five Exercises that are Easy and Simple to Learn," of The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa) and should be interpreted in a few words.
One day when I shared an experience with a fellow practitioner, a sentence she said raised my understanding at once. At least I obtained some enlightenment at my current level.
She said, “The reason why I am able to persist in practicing Falun Dafa during this difficult period is that I saw the ‘Fa’ when I practiced for the first time.” Of course, I understood what she said was that she saw certain manifestations of the Fa. But when I heard her say of “seeing the Fa,” I immediately understood many Fa principles.
In fact, the reason that I did not understand “obtaining the Fa” very deeply before is that I thought “obtaining the Fa” was obtaining the high level “instruction” and Master’s protection, things like that. What I thought was not real and what I saw was not clear. My level limited my understanding.
Now I understand that the “obtaining” is neither getting something in everyday language, nor gaining or accepting something like a gift. In fact, it is the Fa’s thorough transformation of a life, a whole preparing process through which the life can enter into a new universe, and formation of a whole set of mechanisms from the most microscopic to the most macroscopic.
After enduring tens of thousands of hardships and difficulties, a practitioner is finally able to obtain the Dafa of the cosmos at the time when the entire cosmos is being renewed. What is that? It is Master giving you a complete set of essentials of Dafa used to build the new cosmos of your life. In other words, it is your cosmic system obtaining a set of mechanisms of the new cosmic Fa.
It is a real, concrete system. Obtaining the Fa is just like having a set of purification equipment installed in your body according to the standard of the new cosmos (the analogy here is imprecise). It is like a portable purification factory. That is why Gods do not regard a person who has obtained the Fa as a human being anymore.
When a practitioner studies the Fa with a peaceful mind, he will enhance the mechanisms of Fa on his body. At the same time, he would make clear the cultivation principles of Fa in the human world and regulate his own behavior.
So our every single thought, idea or action that is based on the Fa would become an energy source for the purification factory. That is how our lives are cultivated by the Fa. Layer after layer of our bodies are purified from the microscopic to the macroscopic, which is the process of assimilating to the Fa (along the way, all beings in the cosmic system in our microscopic bodies would also be saved by assimilating to the Fa). Finally we will meet the requirements of lives in the new cosmos.
However, since our lives were created in the old cosmos and we had warped notions, we originally carried a set of degenerated Fa-principles from the old cosmos. The old forces tried to improve such a system and tried to purify the old cosmos by having Dafa disciples follow their arrangements. But did they realize parts of their equipment were already contaminated? How could it produce [something like] “pure water?”
The systems from both the Fa of the new cosmos and the Fa of the old cosmos simultaneously exist in Dafa disciples’ bodies. Therefore, whether Dafa disciples carry themselves in a righteous manner or not is of critical importance. If we can persist with righteous thoughts and righteous actions according to Master’s teaching, we will be cultivated in the mechanism of the new cosmic Fa that Master has installed in us. On the contrary, if our thoughts are not righteous, we will be interfered with and exploited by the mechanisms of the old forces.
The new cosmos will be in perfect harmony after Fa-rectification. That is because it experienced a lengthy development process as the colossal firmament was turned from new to old as it aged, and now a reverse transformation process from old to new is taking place by cultivating the old lives. The colossal firmament will finally complete a process from being born, death and followed by rebirth. After Fa-rectification, the new cosmos has a self-repairing mechanism. After that, the colossal firmament will not degenerate. “Heaven and earth will be stable, and the Fa will exist forever.” (“When the Fa is Right” in Essentials for Further Advancement)
Disciples in the Fa-rectification period are lives closely associated with the Fa, lives closely associated with the cosmos going through the process of formation-stasis-degeneration-destruction and finally becoming indestructible. Wherever such a life is, he will reflect the brilliance of the Fa of the new cosmos.
With this understanding, I recalled that in his lectures Master Li often reminded Dafa disciples to treasure this cultivation opportunity in the Fa-rectification. My mind is filled with all sorts of feelings.
Beings who have obtained the Fa should understand that all transformations are due to obtaining the Fa and originate from obtaining the Fa. The meaning of “obtaining the Fa” is so solemn and splendid that it is really hard to describe it in human language.

- 4. Beware of the Evil's Assault on Fa Study

In my cultivation path I have witnessed the evil's attack. It is a
systematic attack that can target the most veteran practitioners to the newest at any time.
Recently, many practitioners have shared how they were attacked. Some had vicious attacks of
sickness or crippling pain. Others battle laziness or bouts of anger and frustration. However, no
matter how the evil tries to attack, I feel its mission is a focused and fundamental attack on the
one thing it knows that can defeat it. Master has continued to tell us over and over again about the
one and only way we can strengthen righteous thoughts and truly and fundamentally eliminate the
evil. This is studying Zhuan Falun. I feel the systematic and fundamental mission of the evil is to
keep us away from studying the Fa.
As new articles come out I sometimes feel ashamed when I see that Master has to tell us about our shortcomings several times in more that one article. It is because as one body we
haven't learned the lesson that could be affecting the whole body and the Fa rectification. Still,
Master continues to compassionately tell us what we have to do in order to improve.
In past articles Master usually didn't point out our mistakes more than twice, three times at
most. However, since the beginning of my cultivation I have constantly read in almost every article
Master telling us over and over again to study the Fa. "Study the Fa more." "You
can't forget Fa study." "Don't neglect Fa study" "You must study the Fa a
lot."
At this stage of Fa rectification our time is most precious, and in the blink of an eye the weeks
continue to go by. I look around at my own environment and I see that I am so busy. I look back over
the past year and ask myself, "Am I busier than I was last year? Do I have more Dafa work to
do? Am I involved in more projects? Am I involved in more ideas? Do I have more fires to put out? Am
I flooded with more emails to read and respond to?" The answer is "Yes."
I then ask myself, "Am I reading Zhuan Falun more than I was last year? Do I study the Fa
more each day? Am I taking more time and more focus to study the Fa? Do I truly set aside more
precious time to really study the Fa? The answer is definitely no.
I feel this is a blatant attack from the evil. It is similar to demonic interference in
cultivation as stated in Zhuan Falun, where everything comes and tries to stop someone from
practicing cultivation in order to keep his level down.
Some practitioners tell me how much they read Dafa websites. They read everyday for two hours.
They then tell me they wish they had more time to read the book. Others say they try to find time to
read but they are so busy with Dafa work. They tell me the reason they do so much Dafa work is
because they can see immediate results from the things they create, which they can use to clarify
the truth to people. They also wish they had more time to read the book. I feel it doesn't make a
difference how much time we had. If we don't fundamentally change our thinking, we will never get
around to reading more. There will always be more and more to do.
A practitioner shared her understanding with me. She feels that Zhuan Falun is the new
cosmos. When we read Zhuan Falun we assimilate to the principles of the new cosmos, we become the
new cosmos. The old forces have ruled the world for millions of years. We have all lived within the
old forces for thousands of years and in this lifetime our consciousness has been dictated by the
old forces ever since we were born. How can we possibly break through any of the old force
arrangements if we ourselves don't fully assimilate to the new cosmos as much as we possibly can?
When we read Zhuan Falun we are eliminating the attachments that keep us chained to the old forces.
In "Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.", Master says,
"Of course, each one of our Dafa disciples says that we don't recognize the old forces'
arrangements, but that's not something you just say--you have to follow the requirements of Dafa and
the Fa-rectification. "I absolutely will not acknowledge any of those things you arranged in
the past, old forces. I don't even acknowledge you." When your righteous thoughts are very
strong you can purge it and you can reject their arrangements."
I used to read the book, looking to enlighten to new principles and deeper meanings. This in
itself was not only a pursuit but was fundamentally off. In my understanding the desire to enlighten
to deeper principles of the Fa won't fundamentally change my being. I take the example of the old
forces. It is comprised of many extremely high level beings that have enlightened to high principles
themselves. However, they continue to persecute and go against the Fa. Why is this? It is because
there attachments to this undertaking have warped their very nature. When I search for principles I
keep my focus away from the more fundamental plan of eliminating my own attachments. It is when I
can truly find my omissions by reading the Fa and eliminate them through cultivation that I truly
feel my levels raise within the new cosmos.
Master says that we can't be everyday people doing Dafa work. We must be Dafa disciples who do
Dafa work. In my understanding it is because when we don't study the Fa we are using all the old
force arrangements to dictate our every thought and every action. Of course we can't sit back and do
nothing until we all reach the ultimate enlightenment state. This is not possible. However, Master
tells us if we do what we are supposed to do, everything will be covered. In my understanding a big
part of this is studying Zhuan Falun.
One night I sat down to study Zhuan Falun. I felt I had lost a lot of time in my Fa study over
the months and it would take a lot to catch up. I had a restless feeling because I still had so many
things to do. Some things I was excited about, others I didn't want to do but had too. I actually
stood by my chair and stared at Zhuan Falun on my coffee table. I didn't pick it up. I felt as if
there was some force keeping me away from sitting and reading. The restlessness, the excitement, my
emails, my projects! I stopped and looked inside my head. At that moment I saw it. I recognized it
and said to it, "You are so eliminated! I finally see you and your power is gone!" I then
sat and started to study Zhuan Falun. It was a great and powerful reading experience.
After I finished I went upstairs to continue my work. My mind was clear and I felt focused and
alert. I started to chop away at all my responsibilities. I found that all the things I had to get
done got done faster when I read. If I don't read the stress, frustration and procrastination set
in, and I find my ideas are messy and usually not within the Fa.
We all know this principle. The fact is Master has given us so many chances to upgrade our levels
before this time is over. I feel we must finally put our Fa study first and foremost. We must listen
to our Teacher and truly put the effort into studying Zhuan Falun. Only then will we be able to
fundamentally destroy the evil and fundamentally clarify the truth. Without this we may miss this
precious chance. We may look for salvation in doing more and more things. Our attachments will
forever remain buried and we may crawl within the boundaries delimited by levels of our own
ignorance.
"Your righteous thoughts and everything you accomplish come from the Fa, so no matter how

- 5. Discussion on "the Internal" and "the External"

When a practitioner talks about the external, he
usually refers to people and things that he encounters in his cultivation. When
a practitioner is able to properly deal with people and things, he is already
promoting Dafa. We cultivate among ordinary people. If our speech or conduct
make people frown, not only will they think that we are bad, but they may also
think that Dafa is bad.
These situations are actually quite prevalent. Some of us even push our
relatives or family members to such a state, though we may not even realize it.
One keeps saying that some of his family members, so and so, are devils who have
interfered with his cultivation by doing this and that. But these people are
exactly the ones we need to save. They have hung their hopes of being saved on
us. Why haven't we displayed the beauty of Dafa to them?
Is it that our speech and conduct have caused them to move to the opposite
side? Pushing people to the other side with one's improper actions is also
damaging Dafa. We might have destroyed many innocent sentient beings this way
and caused huge losses. The lessons are hard and we as practitioners need to
think twice about this.
Quite often, we do not know how to position ourselves with respect to
ordinary people. The root cause of this is that we have not studied the Fa well.
No one should be our enemy. We can expose those who have persecuted us. But the
purpose is not to attack them (except those who are truly unsalvageable).
Rather, it is to stop the persecution and eliminate the evil. Eventually we
still need to clarify the truth to them, and save them and those around them.
Even for those who are truly unsalvageable, we should not push them further to
the opposite side. Each person will choose his own path.
Perhaps the situation results from the mutual interaction of both parties. If
there is only one side, nothing can happen.
If every practitioner can look inward instead of looking outward, true
practitioners' righteous thoughts and conducts will be displayed.
What shall we do specifically? One should look to find his own deficiencies
instead of finding others' deficiencies. When one sees deficiencies in others,
one should examine oneself for the same substances, and get rid of them. Instead
of thinking of changing the external environment that causes the persecution,
pay attention to cultivating oneself while clarifying the truth. This way, the
basis upon which the persecution environment exists is no longer valid.
As a matter of fact, if internally a person is clean, clear, and has no gaps,
then he will not see any persecution externally. This is another meaning that I
can see of what Teacher said: "Pacify the external by cultivating the
internal". The manifestation on the external is to reflect our deficiencies
and let us get rid of them.
But sometimes we still do not look inward to cultivate ourselves and take the
quantity of work as cultivation. Doing a large amount of work cannot replace
cultivation. One has to cultivate oneself in doing work, get rid of attachments,
be clearheaded and see the truth. Although under the big scope saving sentient
being is always the most important and individual cultivation is nothing in
comparison, individual cultivation does lay a foundation for us to tell people
the facts. Only if we cultivate ourselves well can we better tell people the
facts and save sentient beings. Only if we cultivate ourselves well will Dafa
give us more wisdom and capabilities to do well in telling people facts and
doing the three things.
Telling people the facts about Falun Gong is the obligation of every
practitioner in the Fa-rectification period. In the process of telling people
facts, one keeps finding one's attachments and getting rid of them. This way not
only does he save sentient beings, but also he cultivates himself well. This has
never been possible in history with any other cultivation method except for with
what Teacher and Dafa have taught us. It is unprecedented and immensely
glorious. Everything in our future is contained here. The effectiveness of our
clarifying the truth reflects our xinxing. Fa will give us wisdom and
capabilities corresponding to the level of our xinxing. The higher our xinxing
is, the more powerful our words will be. One sentence of ours is enough to
penetrate a person's life, rectifying or disintegrating the bad thoughts in him
and save him. One who has high level of xinxing must also be the most wise. His
properly chosen words can untie all the knots in other people's minds.
There are one hundred million practitioners in China, the population of which
is 1.3 billion. On average, each practitioner only needs to be responsible for
ten or eleven people. Every one of us have more than ten relatives and friends.
But it has been many years since the Fa-rectification began, the process is far
from being completed. Many practitioners keep talking about saving sentient
beings, but in reality they cannot find their true nature and cannot save
themselves. They indulged in their own imagination or wishful thinking and need
to be saved more than anyone else. They have learned Dafa, but have been blocked
by the old factors and cannot see the principles of Dafa. Some say that they
have reached consummation and do not need to cultivate any more, and are waiting
for the Fa-rectification process to finish. Indeed some people are acting this
way and it is truly tragic.
When a cultivator follows the old thoughts, whom is he cooperating with? Who
is persecuting whom when it brings about bad consequences? Teacher said that the
old cosmos is fundamentally selfish. Many of our conducts in cultivation, are
also like this. Only if one looks inward can one keep having new understandings
of Teachers' Fa and reinforcing one's belief in what one has learned. Do not
leave any bad mark in your own cultivation.
The above is a sharing of my own experiences. Please let me know my
deficiencies when you see them.

- 6. Use Powerful Righteous Thoughts to Arrange Our Time in Fa-Rectification Cultivation and Saving People

Recently, when I exchanged experiences with fellow
practitioners, I learned that some fellow practitioners were spending a large
amount of time on their jobs, which shortened their time spent on Fa-rectification
cultivation and also caused them to be physically exhausted. It also affected
their participation in sending forth righteous thoughts at 12:00 a.m. by Dafa
practitioners around the world.
I think this is absolutely not what Master has arranged. Since Fa-rectification
has reached the end of its last stage and time is pressing, how could Master
arrange for so much everyday work to take up our precious Fa-rectification
time? This must be the evil's interference and must be eradicated with
righteous thoughts.
The working environment arranged by Master is for us to cultivate and to
better clarify the truth and save people using the circumstances provided by
our work. We should not solely work for the sake of work itself. We should be
clear about what is primary and what is secondary.
We know through Fa study, that Dafa practitioners must regard the Fa as top
priority in anything we do. Right now, the Fa is rectifying the cosmos and we
co-exist with Master's Fa-rectification and assisting Master in the human
world; everything else exists solely depending on what is needed by Fa-rectification.
Of course, this does not mean Dafa practitioners do not need to work; on the
contrary, we not only need to work, we also must do our job well. However, we
must place righteously the relationship between work and Fa-rectification and
truth clarification, since doing well in our work is also our harmonizing Dafa
in the human world, and it serves to fulfill our historic mission of saving
people. We should never forget our responsibility of Fa-rectification. Dafa
practitioners are the main characters of this play in the human world and we
should not be controlled by something that causes us to not be able to do Fa-rectification
work, which is the most important. Our pre-historic wish can be fulfilled only
through our actively breaking through all kinds of barriers and forms of
interference.
Right now, there are still many people in the world who are deceived by
lies, and we need to clarify the truth to them. Our own cultivation and
improvement also require time. More time means more people will be saved. We
should make good use of our time during work and in daily life, and we also
must eliminate interference from the evil and not let the old forces take
advantage of our gaps. Sometimes, we feel there are many things waiting for us
to do, but what if we don't have time? I think we should obtain and re-arrange
time with our righteous thoughts.
I pay serious attention to sending forth righteous thoughts and I added the
thought, "eliminate all evil that interferes with my Fa-rectification and that
which takes up my precious Fa-rectification time," to eliminate all the evil
that occupies my Fa-rectification time through the form of human work. There
are many forms of interference. For instance, the copier, which usually worked
well, would jam whenever I tried to use it, and therefore wasted lots of time.
I was often asked to go on errands, which interferes with my daily exercises,
Fa study, sending forth righteous thoughts at the top of the hour and reading
articles on Clearwisdom. Sometimes, the assignments given to me took a long
time and had to be verified by several levels of supervisors. Whenever I
encountered this type of incident, I sent forth righteous thoughts aimed at
this work, "eliminate all evil that interferes with my completing this work
and this cannot be used to take up my precious Fa-rectification time." The
result was that I always completed the assignment within the shortest time and
it successfully passed several levels of scrutiny; in others' eyes, I had done
a great job, and at the same time it shows that Dafa is supernormal and
powerful.
From this I realized that the evil would try to take advantage of any
chance that it can get. Although problems occur in our work, we should still
treat them with righteous thoughts. In fact, this is one of the evil's ways of
interference; it wastes our precious Fa-rectification time by creating
difficulties in our work.
If Dafa practitioners can complete their work well and more efficiently
than expected, then we could have more time with the three things required by
Master (study the Fa, send forth righteous thoughts, clarify the truth), and
better save people.

- 7. A Few Words Concerning Benevolent Thoughts

One morning, I woke up early, looked outside and saw everything covered with pure white snow. On the way to work, I was thinking about my elderly neighbor, an 80 year-old woman who lives next door. She usually sells some small goods, and I wanted to help her clear away the snow in front of her shop. When I was about to help her, I saw that a young person had cleared the snow for her. This saved my time and I only needed to clear the snow in front of my own door. As I was just starting to clear the snow, a neighbor came over and began to help me. I have lived here for three years, and prior to this, everyone always minded their own business. Although this incident may be insignificant, I needed to write about it.
I think that a cultivator's thoughts are very important. In the past, I did not realize this. Through this matter, I reflected that if I merely have the thought to help others, even before I act, if the thought is there, others will immediately come to help you. We are cultivators. In everyday life, our thoughts are mostly filled with benevolence, but a little bit of fear remains. For example, the first thought in any situation, is to think of our own advantages or benefits. In our cultivation journey today, we should treat everything with benevolent thoughts, including .
Sometimes, even before to people, we already have a preconception that it may not be easy for this person to accept the truth, or that this other person may accept the truth much more easily. However, if we clarify the truth to everyone with righteous thoughts, then every person has a chance to be saved. Therefore, righteous thoughts are very important for us. Even if a certain person really cannot be saved at the time, we can at least clean his or her mind and give them additional opportunities. This is my understanding, based on my level.
Enlightened beings always have benevolent thoughts and think of others. Our purpose in cultivating is to reach a high level, so we should purify our thoughts and maintain benevolent thoughts. What should we do if we still have lots of impure thoughts? The answer is that we should study the more, and pay attention to every human notion. We should do this at every moment, so that we will develop a habit of it, and eventually we can eliminate all of our human attachments completely. Through cultivation, we can replace our thoughts from human notions with benevolent thoughts. In fact, once we eliminate our selfish hearts, our benevolent thoughts will rise up and naturally dominate our minds. This cannot be pursued, but will arise from a natural elevation of our minds.
Compassion is an enlightened being's essential attribute. Once our hearts are filled with benevolent thoughts, then our human notions will diminish and disappear. We hope to save all sentient beings through the influence of our benevolent thoughts. Let us fulfill our prehistoric vows of saving sentient beings, assist Teacher with the Fa-rectification and follow Teacher to return home.

- 8. Some Thoughts on Using Divine Powers

Recently, I read a Minghui (Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net)
article regarding experiences with using divine powers. Later, I
heard other practitioners talk about how to use divine powers. For
Falun Dafa practitioners during the cultivation process, everyone
has experienced using different divine powers and demonstrating
divine powers. All the divine powers displayed come from our
cultivation of the Fa. Actually, as a Dafa practitioner, sending
forth righteous thoughts is a display of divine powers.
Teacher said,
'In the past it wasn't called "sending forth
righteous thoughts," it was "divine powers"--using divine powers,
Buddha Fa's divine powers. Everyday people have referred to it as
"supernormal abilities." ' ("Fa-Lecture at the Conference in
Florida, U.S.A." )
Falun Dafa practitioners all come from very high levels. We are
the Dafa disciples who help Teacher rectify the Fa and we will
certainly go back to high levels again. So every Dafa disciple who
truly cultivates himself has divine powers. When practitioners send
forth righteous thoughts with a pure mind, it is always very
powerful, no matter whether it displays in this dimension or
not.
Teacher said,
"Actually, every Dafa disciple has abilities. It's just that the
abilities do not manifest in the surface dimension, so they think
that they don't have supernormal abilities. But regardless of
whether they can manifest in the surface dimension or not, when a
person's True Thoughts come forth they are very powerful." ("Dafa

Teacher also mentioned divine powers many times. My
understanding is that divine powers cannot display if we
intentionally try to use them. To the contrary, it is an attachment
if we intentionally pursue them, and we certainly won't have divine
powers if that's the case. Also, we cannot use divine powers for
everyday peoples' matters, which will make the divine powers less
divine. Most importantly, the divine powers we have include
Teacher's sacrifice for us and Teacher's strengthening and
protecting us.
I can still recall the time we went to Beijing to validate the
Fa. Once, we went to Tiananmen Square to display a banner reading
"Falun Dafa is good! Restore my Teacher's reputation!" Later, we
were arrested and transferred to the Pinggu County Detention
Center. Three days later, we were taken to our home town's deputy
office in Beijing by the police from our hometown. At that time, I
had the chance to walk away. But I did not. Instead, I told the
police officer, "Just a minute ago, I had a chance to escape. But I
thought it would be better if you let me go. In that case, you will
do a good thing." The police officer said, "I do not dare to do
that. If I let you go, I cannot keep my job anymore." Then the
police watched us more cautiously.
At night, the police officer asked me, "Are you still going to
run away." I said, "Yes. Our practitioners' righteous thoughts can
let us just walk away." My pure thought really scared the police
officer. When it was time to sleep, the police officer put my quilt
on the ground and said they needed to cuff me to the table legs. I
said, "Do you really think the cuff can restrain me? In the
detention center, the cuff opened seven times." The police officer
did not believe me. I said, "You can call the detention center to
verify it." Later the police officer asked the service lady if she
remembered me. I said, "It is really funny. You want her to
remember what I look like in case when I escape, she can tell you."
They also smiled. Finally the police officer did not know what to
do. He asked me, "Are you going to escape tonight?" I said, "I
won't run away tonight. I did not eat well and sleep well for a few
days. I want to have a good sleep." The police officer said, "We
won't cuff you tonight. Please go to the bed to sleep."
The next morning after breakfast, I told another practitioner
who had also been arrested, "Let's recite the Fa." She said she
could not recite and asked me to recite for her. Then I started to
recite "Lunyu". While I was reciting the Fa, the police officers
fell asleep. But there was still a service lady standing in front
of the door. I started to grab my bag and coat from the bed while
still reciting the Fa. Then I thought that the service lady should
not stand there. Soon the lady also left. So under Teacher's
strengthening and protection, I left the deputy office and went
back home safely. These kinds of miraculous things happened to me
many times. All these miraculous things explain the Fa principle
that when we conform to the Fa, and our pure thoughts are based on
the Fa, our divine powers will display. It is just as Teacher said,
"When disciples have ample righteous thoughts Master has the power
to turn back the tide" ("The Master-Disciple Bond", Hong Yin
Vol. II)
On the other hand, if we cannot use divine powers, it is not
because we do not know how to use them, it is because we do not
have righteous thoughts. If our meets the requirement
of the Fa, our divine powers will display naturally. But since Dafa
disciples are still cultivating in the human world, sometimes our
point of view can be limited by what we see with our eyes and can
be restrained by a human mindset. If we do not see the world using
Fa Eyesight, but by using human notions, we are on the same level
as humans at that moment. Then our divine powers won't display. So
it is not that we do not have divine powers, but that our divine
powers are restrained by human notions. Teacher said,
"But the premise is that you have strong righteous thoughts, no
fear, and no human attachments, apprehension, or hatred; only when
you're in that state will it be effective, and it will take effect
as soon as your thoughts emerge." ("Stop the Evil Acts with
Righteous Thoughts")
It is very natural that practitioners have divine powers during
cultivation of the Fa. Even if it looks like we do not have divine
powers on the surface, we should not pursue them. As long as we
study the Fa well, assimilate to the Fa, validate the Fa and
cultivate ourselves diligently, we will have everything we should
have. Teacher said,
"With such an enormous Fa here, the Fa will be with you when
your thoughts are righteous, and this is the greatest assurance.
But on the other hand, when your righteous thoughts are inadequate
and not in line with the Fa, you will be cut off from the Fa's
power, and it will seem like you are alone and getting no help.
Even if the things you are doing are Dafa things, you still have to
conform to the Fa or else the Fa's power will not be there." ("Fa
Teaching Given in Manhattan")
In short, we should not have the attachment of pursuing divine
powers and we should not use divine powers for everyday peoples'
matters. Our Dafa disciples have everything, but we cannot display
it freely among everyday people. While we help Teacher rectify the
Fa and save sentient beings, and while we validate the Fa and
protest the persecution, everything we do should be based on the
Fa. We can use our divine powers to thoroughly eliminate the evil
beings and factors in other dimensions that persecute Falun Dafa
practitioners and poison sentient beings. We can use our divine
powers to stop evil peoples' acts. We should not use divine powers
for anything inappropriate.
Teacher said,
"You have to reach a state in which you have such things but
have no heart for them, in which you can do such things but without
attachment." ("Fa Teaching Given in Manhattan")
Let us strive forward together, and walk our path of cultivation
righteously and diligently, to leave a righteous path of
cultivation for the future mankind.
